Exciting Workshop at Montepulciano (IT)!

From 4-9 April 2027, the Folkwang Early Music Department will organise an exciting stage in Montepulciano (Italy), at the European Academy of the Arts. The venue of the amazing 16th century Palazzo Ricci, right in the center of town, forms the perfect environment for an extensive, in-depth study and performance of Italian music and visual arts of the Renaissance period. The recorder class will take advantage of this unique opportunity and, among others, focus on the challenging diminutions that are transmitted in the famous treatise Fontegara by Silvestro Ganassi (Venice, 1535). Here you can listen to a full-fletch ornamented madrigal in this absolutely fascinating style.
